Seeing the desperate state of Arts and Music education in Monongalia County in 1992 (during a hard local depression), MAC created ArtsReach. Today ArtsReach focuses on schools and communities beyond Morgantown City limits. Almost every school outside of our county seat has more than 75% of students on subsidized and discounted school lunches. Arts and Music education develops critical thinking skills. Arts and Music education directly impacts math, science and language skills. Denying Arts and Music education is denying our youth a better future. MAC sends teachers and performers schools and community centers. If possible, MAC brings students and families to the Arts as well by sponsoring elaborate field trips to regional and national Arts events and centers.
