Bourbon Street To High Street: New Orleans Jazz To Arrive In The Tanner Theatre For Benefit Concert

 

HSJB3Morgantown’s taste of New Orleans, The High Street Jazz Band, is set to perform in the Tanner Theatre on Friday, May 5 at 8 pm! Enjoy as flavors of brass band, jazz, zydeco, gospel, and blues hit your palette in a blend only this band can produce!   Founded in 2010, the HSJB began with promoting music education as its foremost goal, and to this day, the band provides free concerts for children and schools as part of its mission. Partnered with the Monongalia Arts Center, the HSJB strives to make a difference in the community. Year-round, on Friday nights between 6 and 9pm, the band marches down High Street.   

Band members who will be performing are: Joel Steadman, John Steadman, Phillip Kase, Audrey Haller, Tania Kinsel, Alex Higgins, Matthew Kingsbury, Kurt Tennant, and Carrie Sullivan.

The concert will immediately follow the opening of the Thompson Holmes exhibition, Americana, which will occur from 6 to 8 pm. This one-evening concert, on May 5 is a benefit concert for the Monongalia Arts Center (Media Contact: John Bryant (304) 995-4972 thehighstreetjazzband@gmail.com) at 8 pm in the Tanner Theatre. Admission is a minimum donation of $5 to benefit Monongalia Arts Center.
