We would like to invite you to become a member of Monongalia County's arts and culture center, Monongalia Arts Center (MAC), where the door to artistic expression has been open for 35 years. Since 1978, our mission has remained: To provide a home for the visual, performing, and literary arts through programming and educational outreach. Included in MAC's facilities and programming are:
- The Mabel DeVries Tanner Theatre, a black box theatre with cabaret style seating for 50, provides a theatrical outlet for community members to perform an assortment of productions for the enjoyment of area residents. The Tanner Theatre is also suitable for meetings, receptions, and other special events.
- The Benedum & Davis Galleries have ongoing exhibitions of artwork by local, regional, and national artists. Gallery hours are 11 am – 7 pm Monday – Friday and 11 am – 4 pm Saturday. There is no admission fee.
- Arts Education is offered year round for all ages. MAC continues to offer a variety of private lessons including visual art, voice, banjo, guitar, and piano. Group workshops are announced at least one month in advance.
- ArtsReach, an exciting outreach program, brings MAC's arts education program to rural and remote areas of Monongalia County as well as to special needs groups.
As a member of MAC, you receive an announcement postcard for all gallery receptions, invitations to MAC events, and a 10% discount on all classes and Tanner Theatre productions. Artist members are given a break on commission taken by MAC for the sale of artwork (20% instead of 30%).
Your support will ensure a home for the arts in Morgantown and Monongalia County for future generations to enjoy. A considerable portion of our annual operating funds come from membership dues. Please recognize the contribution MAC makes to our community and support it by becoming a member today. We look forward to welcoming you to the MAC family.
